Player Positional Tracker: Newcastle v Man City

By Colin Trainor | August 19, 2014 | Boxes

Newcastle 0 vs 2 Man City (17th August 2014)

Continuing the Player Positional Tracker vizs for the opening round of EPL games.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder, but some of my takeaways:

  • City showed nice balance with Clichy and Kolarov alternating in terms of which of the pair was farthest forward
  • Fernando was a permanent fixture as a Defensive Midfielder, this allowed Yaya Toure to be a bit more adventurous
  • Nasri played in an advanced role, with Dzeko dropping back into the midfield after 35 minutes
