StatsBomb will provide the event data for the Hays x Manchester City Hackathon Event, which will take place on Wednesday 24th of May 2023.
Competing teams will use the club's game packs, which include StatsBomb's event data and Second Spectrum's tracking data, to develop an app or tool to deliver actionable match insights to the club's coaching staff for use at half-time and full-time.
The best projects will provide genuine analytical insights, and should positively impact team and/or individual player performance.
StatsBomb CEO Ted Knutson will be part of the final judging panel that chooses the winning submission. The overall winners will receive StatsBomb Conference 2023 tickets and will be invited to present their app on the Research Track stage at the event.
The winning team will be able to see their app in action, be given a matchday experience at The Etihad Stadium, and receive two signed shirts (per team). The prizes for other shortlisted teams include £1,000 worth of tech prizes, and an invitation to pitch live at the City Football Academy.
