StatsBomb has announced a partnership with Oldham Athletic to serve as the club’s data and analytics provider.
The partnership sees Oldham become the first National League club to implement StatsBomb’s contextual event data and IQ platform into its recruitment and opposition analysis workflows. The club will also be able to use StatsBomb’s products to enhance its approach to core aspects of modern football, such as prospect scouting and performance analysis.
Additionally, the deal gives Oldham the chance to take advantage of StatsBomb's data science team. The club will benefit from StatBomb’s unique and advanced models, including On-Ball Value (OBV). They will also gain access to the world class StatsBomb Customer Success team and StatsBomb Assist - a newly released self-service support tool designed for our customers to help them maxmise the value from our products.
The agreement with StatsBomb demonstrates the club’s ambitions to get back into the EFL, by using a data-driven approach for recruitment and performance analysis.
The multi-year deal also signals that the use of analytics is continuing to permeate down the levels of the football pyramid, as teams like Oldham look to get an edge and progress by working with StatsBomb Data.
