1. FC Nürnberg Become The Latest German Team To Sign StatsBomb Partnership

StatsBomb continues its expansion in the German market after signing a multi-year deal to provide its contextual event data and customisable tools to 1. FC Nürnberg.

The new partnership demonstrates the team's commitment to implementing a data-driven approach across crucial aspects of the club, from talent identification to individual player analysis.

The 2. Bundesliga side will also have access to StatsBomb's newly released Expected Pass and Pass Clustering models. The models will allow 1. FC Nürnberg to evaluate teams' and players' passing skills and tendencies, enabling deeper insight into prospect scouting and tactical analysis.

The club will also have access to StatsBomb's 360 Data, including metrics such as Ball Receipts In Space & Line-Breaking Passes, enabling them to perform recruitment, opposition and team analysis at a much deeper level of detail.

Speaking about the announcement, Alex Taylor, Soccer Sales Manager, StatsBomb, said:

“We are delighted to be working with 1. FC Nürnberg as the club has shown great ambition around wanting to work with our products and implementing them throughout key club departments.“

Speaking about the partnership, Olaf Rebbe, Sporting Director, 1. FC Nürnberg, added:

"The services provided by StatsBomb have helped our Data Department to grow at an exponential rate. We have created new workflows that are used every day in our decision-making processes to minimise errors. As we continue to improve our scouting process, it is essential for the club to have tools that are at the forefront of the industry, such as StatsBomb."

As part of the agreement, 1. FC Nürnberg’s Women’s team will also receive access to StatsBomb’s advanced analytics and visualisation platform, StatsBomb IQ.

The women’s side will have access to cutting-edge analytics and advanced base data from the domestic league to support its performance analysis and recruitment operations.

The agreement also highlights how the data revolution continues to grow in the women’s game and at every level of the football pyramid.
