Coventry City FC Sign Upgraded League and Data Package With StatsBomb

Coventry City Football Club has expanded its partnership with StatsBomb with a significant upgrade to the club’s existing data package.

The strategic move from the EFL Championship club underscores its growing commitment to leveraging advanced analytics for a competitive edge in their domestic competitions.

The upgraded deal grants Coventry enhanced access to StatsBomb's advanced performance data, and provides the club with an unparalleled depth of insights into player performance, opposition analysis, and strategic game planning.

By expanding league and data access, Coventry will also be able to expand their scouting and recruitment searches across key leagues in Europe and tap into previously unexplored global markets.

Speaking about the renewed partnership, Jack Coles, Head of Data and Analysis, Coventry City FC, said:

“Coventry City Football Club are delighted to extend our working relationship with StatsBomb. The support we have received from the club's new ownership is superb with respect to ambition, and I'm immensely grateful this new agreement will help us in our goal to be a club synonymous with high-level, data-driven making and workflows throughout the club.

We want to move forward as an institution that makes positive and data-informed short and long-term decisions, and this level of investment, coupled with our staff and personnel, will help us do that. I am confident that in the coming years, we will achieve our ambitions on the pitch and become a top-level analysis department, and this data will prove crucial to that."

Scott Johnson, Senior Analyst, StatsBomb, added:

“Coventry has been one of our oldest customers, coming on board in 2020 with a small package under former Head of Analysis Paul Travis. Since then, they have been promoted from League One to the Championship, where they have punched above their weight for many seasons, coming one kick away from a place in the Premier League this year.

The new ownership has massively increased investment into analytics, and we're pleased to begin a new partnership with them for an extensive data package.

This package will help them expand their player recruitment across the globe, enabling them to find talent in untapped markets. We thank Jack Coles, Dean Austin, Mark Robins and Doug King for their continued trust in our data.”
