Chicago Fire FC has signed a deal with StatsBomb to use its cutting-edge data and analytical services.
The collaboration with the industry-leading company highlights the Fire’s commitment to data innovation in football and will see the Club acquire the various benefits of StatsBomb's IQ platform and advanced performance data.
The unmatched granularity of StatsBomb's event data will allow the Fire to capture detailed insight from the most accurate Expected Goals (xG) model in the industry and analyse its performances in greater depth. Through this partnership, the Fire and its sister club, FC Lugano, will be able to interrogate the contextual event data into their existing performance, recruitment and opposition analysis departments.
Both clubs will also have access to StatsBomb IQ, which will enable them to run extensive performance analysis, examine advanced metrics and potentially gain a winning edge. The IQ access will allow each team to compare similar players and teams across 90+ competitions worldwide and create shortlists based upon key pre-identified StatsBomb metrics.
