StatsBomb Named Analytical Services Provider For The Kansallinen Liiga

StatsBomb has signed a deal to provide its market-leading analytical services to the clubs of the Kansallinen Liiga, the premier division of women’s football in Finland.

This partnership highlights the league's commitment to data innovation and will see its ten member clubs gain access to StatsBomb's IQ analysis platform. Each team will be able to examine advanced metrics and visualise key elements of pre-match preparation and post-match analysis. The IQ platform will also offer the clubs the potential to customize their approach to in-game tactics, and discover trends in their attacking and defensive playing styles.

The deal will help to develop the Kansallinen Liiga's approach to the core aspects of modern football, such as prospect scouting. Using the IQ platform, each club will be able to compare similar players and teams across 90+ competitions worldwide and create shortlists based upon pre-identified StatsBomb metrics.

The agreement has commenced and will continue for the ongoing 2023 campaign.

Alex Taylor, Sales Executive, StatsBomb, said:

“We are really excited to announce our first league wide partnership on the women’s side, where we will be supporting the teams from the Kansallinen Liiga with the implementation of our data into their processes. It will be great to see the whole league benefitting from data and analytics, and we look forward to a successful partnership."

Heidi Philaja, Head of Women's Football Development, Football Association of Finland, added:

“First-class analytical services are crucial when fastening the development of the women’s game in Finland. I am happy all the clubs are able to utilize the data tools that give them a professional and modern way to analyze their game and enhance the level of football."
