StatsBomb Expands Presence In Japanese Market With Gekisaka Agreement

Gekisaka has signed an agreement with StatsBomb to use its contextual event data for pre-game and post-match analysis content.

The Japanese media outlet will focus its data-driven analysis on J-League and Japan’s national team matches. They will have access to insightful granular data that features over 3,400 events per match and unique StatsBomb metrics such as Pass Footedness, Pressures By Team and Player, Shot Impact Height and much more.

Gekisaka will also have access to StatsBomb’s newly released Expected Pass and Expected Pass Clustering models. These models will allow them to evaluate teams' and players' passing skills and tendencies, enabling deeper insight into player performance and team analysis.

The latest partnership with Gekisaka demonstrates StatsBomb’s growth in Japan after the multi-sport data company announced Urawa Reds as its first J-League customer earlier this year.
