StatsBomb Increases Women’s Coverage with Mexico's Liga MX Femenil

At StatsBomb, we are committed to supporting and developing women’s football. We offer free access to our scouting and analysis platform StatsBomb IQ to the teams of various women’s leagues; we publish free data from the primary international competitions, such as as the World Cup and the Euros; and we prioritise the creation of statistical models that truly reflect what happens in the women’s game.

We have also steadily been increasing our coverage of women’s leagues. In 2022, we started to collect the Swedish Damallsvenskan, we have recently added the FA Women’s Championship, and now we are delighted to announce that we have commenced coverage of our first Latin American league: Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil.

Founded in 2016, the Liga MX Femenil has barely stopped growing since. The large majority of the Mexican national team play there, while the infusion of foreign imports over the last couple of years has added further interest. Players like Sarah Luebbert, Mia Fischel and the Spanish internationals Andrea Pereira and Jennifer Hermoso have helped to raise the quality of the league.

The number of spectators, both in stadiums as well as via broadcast, has also been on the rise, with the recent first leg of the Apertura 2022 final between Club América and Tigres establishing a new record for women’s football in Mexico with an attendance of 52,654.

It is a very interesting league and one that now benefits from the coverage of StatsBomb data, the most detailed and precise available.

Our women’s football data features exactly the same level of detail as our data for men’s football, including our exclusive pressure data, StatsBomb xG, the most reliable expected goals model in the industry, and advanced models such as On-Ball Value (OBV).

There’s more. We have a very special offer for Liga MX Femenil teams.

As we already mentioned, we offer free access to our advanced analysis and scouting platform StatsBomb IQ for their own leagues to women’s teams in England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United States. Now, we are extending that offer to the Liga MX Femenil.

Mexican men’s teams such as Atlas, Club América, Monterrey, Santos Laguna and Tigres have already integrated StatsBomb’s solutions into their scouting and analysis processes. Now, Mexican women’s teams will have access to the same tools for free.

If you work at a Liga MX Femenil team, please get in touch to arrange your access to the platform.
